Hotel Santa Maria

My partner and I stayed at the Santa Maria hotel in Finale Ligure at the end of September for an enchanting week, surrounded by qualified staff who were always helpful to every need, the owner Giampiero a kind and friendly person. The rooms were clean with towels changed every day, the place was quiet and close to the sea. The menu was really excellent, varied and tasty, the breakfast was full of good products. I went to this place for work and I was immediately negatively struck by the location because you have to enter a very dingy dirty hallway where all the rooms are distributed. In the corridor of the rooms pigeon feathers everywhere which you find in the morning because they make too much effort to remove them and a bucket to contain the water leaking from the ceiling 🤦🏼 I enter my claustrophobic single room I see the very narrow bathroom without a bidet! with a simple pine cone as a shower and a drain on the floor without a curtain and without a cabin with a toilet and sink very close which obviously when you try to wash yourself there's filthy water everywhere as if you'd had a sauna😳 I asked the owner if it was possible to change it and he told me I said no, making a thousand excuses and wanted to give it to me at the same price as the others with a proper bidet and shower🤦🏼. In the morning if you don't ask for it they won't even change it for you. The towels and soap you used are always in the same position in which you put it to wash yourself 😳. Let's move on: in the room when you enter the buffet you find 3 squalid trays with salad on the first cut, in the second cut cucumbers and hold on tight in the third tray peperlizia with rice spilled in the tray 😳🤦🏼 who were quicker to make a real appetizer than wasting time opening all those jars!!! In the evening after the service the owner leaves without leaving anyone at the reception for safety and not even an emergency telephone number written on the door! A real flop in every sense🤦🏼😳Thank goodness I came here for work and then the agency reimburses me the money because I wouldn't spend even 1 euro in that place🤦🏼

I just stayed at the Santa Maria hotel, I had a great time, cozy and clean room, super comfortable bed, they make the room every morning. The breakfast is excellent, there is so much choice, everything is delicious! Gianpiero is very nice, kind and always present and his staff are attentive and thoughtful.
